Here are a few tips/tricks Misty has found useful in controlling her Fibromyalgia symptoms along with the symptoms of her comorbid conditions IBS and TMJ...
This post will cover essential oils, hot rice bags, foot cleanses, foot massages and some helpful additional reading.
My Fibromyalgia symptoms include:
- Excessive tiredness
- Pain all over my body
- Arthritis symptoms in my hands
- Painful soles of my feet
- I ache and hurt everywhere
- Headaches hurt everywhere
- Brain fog (feelings of mental confusion or lack of mental clarity)
With Fibromyalgia, I literally have no energy to do anything and it has been worse since my Mom's death.
I say, "Fibromyalgia is like PTSD to the muscles in my body."
When my Fibromyalgia is at its worst, I literally feel like I have been in a car wreck. Weather change and stress cause it.
- Sharp premenstrual like pains which feel like I'm being stabbed with needles
- Horrific gas
My TMJ(Temporomandibular Joint Disorders), symptoms include:
- Loud, popping pain of the jaw when I yawn
I have found essential oils to ease my pain and would like to share which ones have helped.
I use the brand Plant Therapy out of Twin Falls, Idaho.
A mixture of Lemon Grass, Vetiver, Peppermint, Lavender and Wintergreen with a carrier oil (I prefer Grape Seed). I mix a couple drops of each along with a quarter size of carrier oil, mix together and rub it on the parts that hurt.
I also like Pain Aid
And Muscle Aid
I use the Tummy Aid oil with a carrier from Plant Therapy for my IBS.
I wear retainers and use the Stress Free oil by Plant Therapy mixed with a carrier oil. I rub it on my jaw and behind my ears.
Hot Rice Bags
I use hot rice bags on my stomach for my IBS symptoms.
Monthly Foot Cleanses
Foot cleanses, such as an ionic foot detox help immensely. I recommend finding a Certified Foot Massage Specialist for this.
In a nutshell, the foot cleanse helps make the bodies pH more "alkaline". The importance of keeping your body "alkaline" is that diseases thrive in acidic environments. So, if you can make and keep your body as alkaline as possible, you are less prone to contracting diseases.
Along with helping with Fibromyalgia pain, these cleanses work well for people suffering from GI disorders, skin conditions, fungal/yeast infections and cancer.
** Those with pacemakers or open lesions/sores on the feet should NOT do these. Also, those with Type I Diabetes should use caution**
Another therapy that has helped is foot massage. Having it professionally done will produce the best results. However, you can do one at home, and this post at Your Oil Essentials is very helpful in outlining the procedure.
Studies have found that an excess build up of Candida can cause pain for Fibromyalgia sufferers. I found this book that explains this in detail and is very educational.
Part of clearing up the candida build up in one's body is to change your eating habits, almost becoming vegan.
These are the therapies that have helped me fight the pain. There are many, many therapies out there that will help.
